About The Position

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join its Hospital Medicine team as a Nocturnist at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) in Christiansburg, Virginia. The role provides inpatient care during overnight hours, including evaluating and admitting patients, managing acute medical conditions, and responding to changes in patient status. The Nocturnist works closely with nursing, emergency medicine, specialists, and other care-team members to support continuity of care throughout the night. The position is part of a collaborative, physician-led health system and a well-established Nocturnist program with experienced, supportive APP coverage and a manageable workflow. The schedule includes 146 shifts per year, compared with a stated national average of 180 shifts. Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
