About The Position

UVA Health is seeking a dedicated BE/BC Nocturnist to join our growing Hospital Medicine team at UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center in Culpeper, Virginia. This role is part of a health system committed to advancing patient care while supporting physician wellness and work-life balance. The position is 0.8 FTE, approximately 145 shifts annually, with a night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The role features a closed ICU, no call responsibilities after shift completion, supportive administrative and clinical leadership, and strong specialty support. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) used is Epic, with an approximate annual wRVU target of 4,500 per FTE.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of an accredited residency program
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility
• Eligibility for Virginia medical licensure
• DEA certification

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care from admission through discharge
• Admit and manage unassigned patients from the Emergency Department
• Respond to codes and in-house emergencies
• Provide consultations as appropriate for Behavioral Health, Med/Surg, and other inpatient services
• Participate in observation care and diagnostic interpretation within scope of practice
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centered care
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
