About The Position

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a NOC Specialist to support the Federal Government in providing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) support of contracted operations. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, and managing voice, data, and satellite networks for the Department of Homeland Security (FEMA). The specialist will provide Tier 2 expert assistance in operating and managing the FEMA Transport Network (FTN) and coordinate with FEMA personnel. The position requires experience with various voice and data systems, including Cisco products, Avaya systems, TCP/IP, and Windows. Additionally, it involves the operation and management of systems for satellite tracking and providing digital data services to mobile satellite trucks and portable flyaway dishes. The role also includes working with DHS-NOC and AT&T-NOC to ensure WAN service availability at FEMA sites and assisting engineering teams in resolving WAN interface issues. Support for new hardware/software acquisition and installation is also part of the responsibilities. The work is performed at the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC) Network Operations Center, with a backup location in Winchester, Virginia, and occasional telework from a personal residence may be required. A government-issued Top Secret Security clearance is required, and holding a current TS is a plus.

Requirements

  • Requires experience with voice and data systems (e.g., Cisco Voice Over IP, Avaya Aura Audio Conference Bridge, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco CUCM Unity, Avaya PBX, multiplexers, Cisco switches and routers, TCP/IP and Windows) to include planning, evaluation and configuration of routers, bridges and other devices.
  • Employee must be willing and able to obtain a government issued Top Secret Security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, troubleshoots, configures and manages the Department of Homeland Security (FEMA) voice, data and satellite networks.
  • Coordinates with FEMA personnel to provide Tier 2 "expert" assistance in all aspects of operating and managing the FEMA Transport Network (FTN).

  • Operation and management of systems associated with satellite tracking, providing digital data service to mobile satellite trucks and portable flyaway dishes.
  • Work with DHS-NOC and AT&T-NOC to ensure that WAN services at FEMA fixed and disaster sites are operational and assists FEMA engineering to resolve WAN interface issues through the DHS and AT&T NOC’s.
  • Support new hardware/ software acquisition and installation of aforementioned products.
