About The Position

The NOC Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational support, monitoring, maintenance and hands-on troubleshooting of Beanfield's wireless and enterprise network infrastructure. Working under the direction of the Manager, Network Operations Centre, this role collaborates closely with Beanfield's Network Engineering, NOC, Information Security and other Technology teams to ensure reliable, performant and secure wireless and enterprise network services for both internal teams and Beanfield customers. The NOC Specialist will have solid hands-on knowledge of wireless networking systems; including access points, controllers and emerging Wi-Fi technologies — as well as enterprise switching, routing, firewall and LAN/WAN infrastructure. This role is focused on operational excellence: executing maintenance, responding to escalations, following established standards, and contributing to documentation and the continuous improvement of Beanfield's wireless and enterprise network environments.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in network operations, network engineering or a related technical role
  • Demonstrated experience configuring, deploying and troubleshooting wireless network infrastructure (Ruckus preferred; Cisco or equivalent acceptable)
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise switching and routing platforms (Cisco, Arista or similar)
  • Working knowledge of enterprise network protocols including VLAN, STP/RSTP, LACP, 802.1X, and foundational routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
  • Experience with wireless site surveys, RF troubleshooting and wireless performance analysis
  • Familiarity with firewall operations and access control management (FortiGate an asset)
  • Experience working within a ticketing and change management framework (ITSM/ITIL-aligned)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical work clearly and concisely
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced operational environment

  • CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator) or equivalent wireless certification
  • Ruckus Certified Wireless Professional (RCWP) or Ruckus Certified Wireless Administrator (RCWA)

  • Fortinet NSE 4 or equivalent firewall certification
  • Fortinet NSE 5 – FortiManager or FortiAnalyzer (asset)
  • ITIL v4 Foundations

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day operation, monitoring, maintenance and support of Beanfield's wireless network infrastructure, including access points, wireless controllers and associated systems (Ruckus, Cisco and related platforms)
  • Configure, deploy and commission wireless access points and controllers in accordance with established design standards and MOPs
  • Conduct wireless site surveys, RF troubleshooting, coverage analysis and performance optimization to maintain quality of service
  • Perform day-to-day operation and support of Beanfield's enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure, including core, distribution and access layer switching and routing (Cisco, Arista)
  • Perform VLAN management, port configuration, access control and L2/L3 switching operations as required
  • Support firewall operations and administration (FortiGate an asset), including policy reviews, access control changes and VPN support under direction of senior engineers
  • Act as a hands-on responder for escalated wireless and enterprise network incidents, working to restore service in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform structured troubleshooting of wireless and enterprise network issues including connectivity, performance, authentication and hardware faults
  • Collaborate with NOC, Network Engineering and other Beanfield technical teams during incident response, providing clear status updates and technical findings
  • Conduct root cause analysis following resolved incidents and contribute to RFO (Reason for Outage) documentation in collaboration with senior team members
  • Identify and document recurring issues or problem patterns; recommend and implement remediation solutions under direction of senior engineers
  • Maintain and follow documented incident handling procedures and escalation paths
  • Create, maintain and update accurate technical documentation including network diagrams, runbooks, configuration records and standard operating procedures
  • Develop and maintain Method of Procedure (MOP) documents for routine operational tasks including wireless deployments, enterprise configuration changes, upgrades and troubleshooting procedures
  • Participate in identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability and documentation quality within the wireless and enterprise network environments
