Noc Engineer
About The Position
Operations Specialists in the client's Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) use systems and network experience to proactively monitor services and respond to incidents across worldwide operations. The role focuses on rapid detection, triage, and mitigation of player-impacting issues, along with continuous improvement of service operations through monitoring adjustments, alert tuning, signal-to-noise and correlation improvements, and documentation updates. The GNOC connects the client's games, platforms, and the teams that create and support them. Operations Specialists help maintain reliable player- and employee-facing services, enabling creators to work and players to play. The position is a contract role based out of Santa Monica, California, and is fully remote. The listed pay rate is $42.80 per hour. The position is anticipated to close on October 31, 2026.
Requirements
- Knowledge or experience in Linux.
- Knowledge or experience in networking.
- Knowledge or experience with monitoring tools.
- Knowledge or experience with AWS.
- Knowledge or experience with ITIL.
- Knowledge or experience with logging.
- Knowledge or experience with source control.
Responsibilities
- Monitor inbound communications from all channels to identify and track incidents.
- Use systems, networking, and cloud knowledge as a first responder to triage problems and improve detection accuracy.
- Drive player- and user-impacting issues toward resolution.
- Follow up routinely on active incidents to ensure resolution is progressing as expected.
- Process routine requests for access, ACL, network, and systems maintenance.
- Adjust alert triggers to reduce false positives.
- Manage engagement, documentation, and stakeholder communications during critical service outages.
- Review, correct, and tune runbooks, troubleshooting guides, user guides, processes, and procedures.
- Build positive, collaborative relationships across the company.
