About The Position

The Night Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and planning customer deliveries/orders on a daily basis for distribution to all drivers. This role involves receiving and handling phone orders, faxes, and e-mails for deliveries, and coordinating the delivery schedule for both day and night operations. The position requires responding to customer needs promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction, while also maintaining the lowest possible costs through proper scheduling and maximizing loaded miles for efficiency. Communication with maintenance staff regarding fleet equipment availability, PMs, and repairs is crucial. The role also includes inventory control for designated customers and locations, processing and scanning paperwork for customers, and communicating system malfunctions to the Billing Supervisor and General Manager. Additionally, the Night Dispatcher will coordinate driver access to loading terminals and perform other related duties as assigned by the President and General Manager.

  • Computer experience a necessity.
  • Strong organizational skills a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Some trucking or gasoline industry background preferred.
  • Background (experience or education) in maintenance field.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and plan customer deliveries/orders on a daily basis for distribution to all drivers.
  • Receive and handle phone orders, faxes, e-mails for all deliveries to be scheduled.
  • Coordinate delivery schedule for both day and night deliveries.
  • Respond to the customer's needs in a timely and professional manner to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Maintain lowest possible costs through proper scheduling.
  • Maximize loaded miles to increase efficiency.
  • Communicate with maintenance staff regarding availability of fleet equipment, PM's, and repairs.
  • Handle inventory control for designated customers and locations.
  • Separate and scan paperwork to be forwarded to customers as well as review scans for remote terminals.
  • Communicate to Billing Supervisor and General Manager any system malfunctions which affect the ability to scan.
  • Coordinate driver access to loading terminals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by President and General Manager.
