About The Position

The Night Custodian maintains a clean and safe school environment. The role performs cleaning, sanitizing, maintenance, supply, setup, and exterior upkeep tasks; operates cleaning and maintenance equipment; and follows safety procedures. The position is part-time and is not eligible for benefits.

Requirements

At least three years in a similar position or a position with comparable functions, or graduation from a facility cleaning and maintenance training program.
Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations applicable to public buildings.
Ability to pass a state and federal background check.

Responsibilities

Clean, dust, and sanitize rooms; clean and wax floors; clean windows and stairs; and sanitize lavatories, furniture, appliances, and support apparatus.
Operate equipment needed to complete essential functions, including vacuum cleaners, rug cleaners, and hand and small power tools.
Install paper products and deliver supplies and materials.
Perform preventive maintenance, paint, replace bulbs and ballasts, and replace glass.
Relocate furniture and equipment and complete facility setups.
Complete inventory reports, daily cleaning and maintenance reports, and supply orders.
Complete building and equipment maintenance tasks.
Keep exterior walks and lawns free of debris and perform snow removal and other related exterior work as requested.
Attend and participate in training programs.
Keep assigned equipment clean.
Perform light carpentry work.
Follow safety procedures at all times.
Provide security detail in the playground area.
Perform and assist with traffic duties as needed.
Perform other duties reasonably requested or assigned by the Supervisor.
