About The Position

The Night Auditor attends to guest needs, balances revenue and expense transactions from the day, and performs front desk functions during the audit shift. The role requires strong communication and guest-service skills, with the ability to take appropriate action to meet and exceed guest expectations. The position is with Shaner Hotels at Carnegie House, a 21-room boutique inn in State College, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least one year of customer service experience.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers so they understand.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for the clientele.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hotel experience.
• Computer experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Attend to the needs of guests and handle guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Balance revenue and expense transactions that occurred during the day.
• Perform front desk functions during the audit shift.
• Process guest check-ins and check-outs according to established hotel requirements.
• Follow payment, cash-handling, and credit policies and procedures.
• Generate, print, and distribute daily reports to designated departments or personnel.
• Communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
