About The Position

The Next Gen Youth Intern serves as a leader and champion of The Hills Church’s Next Gen purpose, vision, and strategy in Youth Ministry. The Hills Church’s purpose is to make and grow followers of Christ by being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did. Next Gen Ministry equips and activates the next generation to love God and their neighbors by engaging every family and elevating community. The intern supports Next Gen programming and youth events, helps plan and lead missional opportunities, and collaborates with interns across campuses to plan summer events. The role also includes spiritual development, personal growth, and assisting with ministerial responsibilities as appropriate. The internship starts in May 2027 and lasts 10 weeks.

Responsibilities

Prayerfully and humbly listen to the Holy Spirit with an obedient posture, cooperating with the move of God.
Disciple the next generation to encounter God through worship, the Word, wonders, and development of a Christ-centered worldview that leads to a resilient walk with Jesus.
Mobilize the next generation to discover and participate in the Mission of God, developing passion and purpose as witnesses who pray, give, and go.
Equip and partner with families in every circumstance to establish a God-given sense of identity in the next generation.
Organize ministry around small groups and intergenerational relationships to foster belonging in a faith community by equipping and activating leaders.
Commit to weekly spiritual development time with the Ministry Supervisor.
Spend time in Bible study and personal growth, identifying growth areas and committing to development.
Support Next Gen Ministry programming.
Attend youth events and experiences, including Bible study groups, weekly gatherings, camps, retreats, and special events.
Assist in planning and leading missional opportunities for Next Gen Ministries.
Assist with ministerial responsibilities when appropriate and as needed.
Work with interns across campuses to plan summer events.
