About The Position

The Next Gen Youth Intern serves as a leader and champion of The Hills Church’s Next Gen purpose, vision, and strategy in Youth Ministry. The Hills Church’s purpose is to make and grow followers of Christ by being with Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and doing what Jesus did. Next Gen Ministry equips and activates the next generation to love God and their neighbors by engaging every family and elevating community. The intern supports youth ministry through spiritual development, discipleship, mission mobilization, family engagement, community building, and leader development. The role includes supporting ministry programming, participating in youth events, helping plan and lead missional opportunities, assisting with ministerial responsibilities as needed, and collaborating with interns across campuses to plan summer events. The internship is based at the West Fort Worth Campus in Fort Worth, Texas, starts in May 2027, and lasts 10 weeks.

Responsibilities

Commit to weekly spiritual development time with the Ministry Supervisor.
Spend time in Bible study and personal growth, identifying areas for growth and committing to development.
Support Next Gen Ministry programming.
Attend youth events and experiences, including Bible study groups, weekly gatherings, camps, retreats, and special events.
Assist in planning and leading missional opportunities for Next Gen Ministries.
Assist in overall ministerial responsibilities when appropriate and as needed.
Work with interns across campuses to plan summer events.
Disciple the next generation through worship, Scripture, spiritual experiences, and development of a Christ-centered worldview.
Mobilize the next generation to discover and participate in the Mission of God, including praying, giving, and going.
Equip and partner with families to establish a God-given sense of identity in the next generation.
Organize ministry around small groups and intergenerational relationships, equipping and activating leaders.
