About The Position
The York News-Times is seeking a journalist to cover a wide variety of topics, including local news and features. Coverage may include crime, business openings, fires, accidents, natural disasters, and local government issues. The role offers an opportunity to make an impact in the York community, whose residents care deeply about their newspaper. The reporter may also be called upon to cover other central Nebraska Lee properties as needed. The position involves writing for digital and print, taking videos and photos, and optimizing content for the web and social media to engage and grow the digital subscriber base. The successful candidate will report and write according to AP style and contribute across photography, videography, and digital platforms. The position includes some night and weekend hours, and the ability to produce timely reports in a fast-moving digital news environment is essential. Requirements
