About The Position

WSYX/WTTE has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer responsible for the day-to-day production of newscasts. The role works closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors on newscasts and their content. The News Producer determines the content and flow of newscasts, works with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories, and develops content for the station website.

The ideal candidate has solid news judgment, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to multitask, manage time, and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving are essential. The candidate should be able to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts and be proficient with non-linear editing and newsroom systems.

Some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station is required, though an entry-level candidate may be considered. A journalism degree is preferred. Sinclair states that it is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
