About The Position

Under the New Truck Manager, the New Truck Salesman is responsible for sales of New & Used Trucks and Trailers in an assigned territory or account within the dealer Area of Responsibility (AOR). This role involves selling new and used equipment, demonstrating technical selling skills and product knowledge, and promoting other dealer offerings such as parts and service, finance, and insurance. The salesperson will understand pricing and proposal models, create effective proposal presentations and RFP responses, and develop a database of qualified leads through various methods. They will also complete required Freightliner certifications and training courses, implement company marketing plans, and maintain detailed records of sales and prospecting activities. Other duties may be assigned, and the job description is subject to change.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and DOT Medical Card.

Nice To Haves

  • One or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clean MVR Record

Responsibilities
