About The Position

The Lonestar Truck Group and TAG Truck Centers have built an excellent reputation within the heavy truck industry. The New Truck Salesman is responsible for sales of New & Used Trucks and Trailers in an assigned territory or account within the dealer Area of Responsibility (AOR), under the New Truck Manager. The role requires promoting other dealer offerings such as parts and service, finance and insurance, and implementing company marketing plans.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and DOT Medical Card.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
One or two years related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Clean MVR Record

Responsibilities

Sells new and used equipment in assigned territory.
Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge.
Promotes other dealer offerings such as parts and service, finance and insurance.
Understands pricing and proposal models and creates effective proposal presentations and RFP responses.
Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail, email and networking as it relates to the AOR.
Completes required Freightliner certifications and training courses.
Implements company marketing plans.
Maintains detailed and accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities.
