About The Position

The Perioperative Nursing Program is designed for Registered Nurses (RNs) to learn the scrub and circulating roles in the Operating Room (OR). This 15-week, full-time, paid program includes classroom lectures, mock surgery skill development, and precepted clinical experiences. The goal is to prepare nurses for a long-standing career in the OR. Upon successful completion, orientation and training continue to build knowledge and skills in other clinical OR specialties. Candidates must be available for the entire 15-week program and start on one of the specified orientation dates: July 13th, 2026, or September 8th, 2026. The role is located at Cleveland Medical Center – Adult Mather OR, with a day shift and rotating weekends & holidays, along with on-call requirements. Service lines include Cardiothoracic, Colorectal, General, Hemoncology, Neurosurgery, Oral/Maxillofacial, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Plastic, Pulmonary, Vascular, Urology, and Robotic Surgery.

Requirements

  • Diploma RN, Associate or Bachelor's Degree of Nursing from an accredited program
  • An Ohio RN license is not required to be considered for this position. If selected to move forward, employment offers may be made contingent on candidate successfully obtaining RN license within time frame discussed at the time of offer acceptance.
  • Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
  • Education and degree verification will be required upon receiving a job offer.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Prior experience on a related unit or specialty in a practicum, internship or STNA/PCNA/NAII is preferred
