About The Position

The MOSC OR is a 6-room unit serving as part of UH Cleveland Medical Center’s Level 1 Trauma Center. Our trauma distinction includes ophthalmology, providing 24/7, sight-saving care for all eye traumas. Other common surgeries include general, bariatric, urology, gynecology, podiatry, pain, breast and colorectal services. This is a 15-week full-time paid Perioperative Nursing Program designed to teach RNs the scrub and circulating role in the Operating Room with the expectation of a long-standing career in an OR setting. The program provides classroom lecture, skill development during mock surgeries, and precepted clinical experiences. Following successful program completion, orientation and training continues as you gain knowledge and skills in other clinical OR specialties. Candidates hired into this role will be required to start on one of the following perioperative orientation days and be available for the entire 15-week program: Tuesday, September 8th 2026.

Requirements

  • Diploma RN, Associate or Bachelor's Degree of Nursing from an accredited program
  • An Ohio RN license is not required to be considered for this position. If selected to move forward, employment offers may be made contingent on candidate successfully obtaining RN license within time frame discussed at the time of offer acceptance.
  • Current BLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
  • Education and degree verification will be required upon receiving a job offer.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Prior experience on a related unit or specialty in a practicum, internship or STNA/PCNA/NAII is preferred
