The New Business Representative (NBR) coordinates customer contact, project activities, billing, and contract preparation for less complex new-business gas and/or electric facility installations. This is a beginning-level individual-contributor classification represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and subject to collective bargaining. NBRs do not prepare job estimates. A representative may be assigned no more than 50% of their workload in Senior New Business Representative-level jobs at one time and must work under the guidance of a Senior New Business Representative or IPE. The role manages assigned projects from initiation through meter set, including preparing pre-design job packages, coordinating stakeholders and dependencies, monitoring scope, schedule and cost, conducting field visits and customer meetings, and ensuring project documentation and tariff requirements are complete. It communicates project status and expectations, helps resolve disputes, coordinates construction readiness, and seeks to minimize costs for customers and PG&E while ensuring safety and compliance. The position is hybrid, working from a remote office and an assigned work location based on business needs. The assigned work location will be within PG&E’s Service Territory. Driving is an essential function. The stated starting wage rate is $51.01 per hour, subject to collectively bargained wage rates and increases. Employees hired into this classification from outside the bargaining unit generally may not have bids or transfers considered under title 21 for 24 months after placement into the regular classification, though they may bid to higher classifications in the same line of progression during that period.
