About The Position

The New Business Representative coordinates customer contact, projects, billing, and contract preparation for less complex new business gas and/or electric facility installations. This beginning-level classification does not prepare job estimates, although job owners may prepare invoices or contracts using simplified charge methodology. A representative may be assigned no more than 50% of their workload in Senior New Business Representative-level jobs at a time and must work under the guidance of a Senior New Business Representative or IPE. The position is hybrid, working from a remote office and an assigned work location within PG&E’s service territory according to business needs. Field visits and customer meetings are required. The role is represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) and subject to collective bargaining. The starting wage rate listed is $51.01 per hour, subject to collectively bargained wage rates and increases. The role supports safe, compliant project delivery from initiation through meter set. It coordinates internal and external stakeholders, manages scope, schedule, and cost, communicates project status and customer expectations, prepares applicable contracts, ensures tariff charges and project documentation are correct, and confirms dependencies are met before construction begins. Employees hired from outside the bargaining unit are subject to a 24-month restriction on bids or transfers under title 21, with the stated exception for bids to higher classifications in the same line of progression.
