Neuropsychologist - Oakland

Executive Mental Health•Oakland, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

This role is for a neuropsychologist looking to make a significant impact by serving an underserved population within skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). The position involves evaluating residents who may have been labeled as difficult or non-compliant, to clarify diagnoses, determine cognitive abilities (e.g., dementia, decision-making capacity), and guide treatment. The neuropsychologist will collaborate with facility staff, providing consultation and guidance to improve resident care, and may also communicate with families to explain conditions and future outlooks. The demand for clinical neuropsychology in SNFs is rapidly increasing due to the growing elderly population with high rates of mental health and cognitive needs. Executive Mental Health (EMH) has focused on this need for 30 years, providing clinically practical, human-centered care to individuals in SNFs who often feel invisible. EMH serves individuals navigating serious mental illness, cognitive decline, medical complexity, trauma, grief, and profound transitions. As a Clinical Neuropsychologist at EMH, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with various professionals to improve resident quality of life by preventing hospitalizations, reducing behavioral crises, supporting staff, and restoring dignity.
