About The Position

This role is for a neuropsychologist looking to make a significant impact with an underserved population in skilled nursing facilities. The position involves conducting bedside evaluations, diagnosing and treating individuals with complex cognitive and mental health needs, and collaborating with facility staff, residents' families, and a multidisciplinary team. The work is described as deeply meaningful, human-centered, and impactful, addressing the growing demand for specialized neuropsychological care in skilled nursing settings due to the increasing aging population. Executive Mental Health (EMH) focuses on providing quality mental healthcare to individuals in skilled nursing facilities who often feel invisible, addressing serious mental illness, cognitive decline, medical complexity, trauma, grief, and life transitions.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology with specialty training in neuropsychology (two-year fellowship program in neuropsychology strongly recommended)
  • Licensed in California
  • Medicare-eligible (assistance with credentialing and paneling provided)
  • Value evidence-based practice and clinical flexibility
  • Comfortable working with complexity and ambiguity
  • Desire autonomy without isolation, and support without micromanagement
  • Curiosity, compassion, and the ability to see the person behind the chart

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in skilled nursing facilities is not required

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals in skilled nursing facilities
  • Manage an active caseload with support from a clinical manager and administrative team
  • Collaborate closely with facility staff, offering consultation, guidance, and in-services
  • Complete documentation aligned with medical necessity and Medicare standards
  • Provide care by meeting residents where they reside, in skilled nursing facilities
