About The Position

Sentara Health, an Award Winning, Innovative, Non-Profit Healthcare System in Beautiful Virginia Beach is looking for a Neurohospitalist for our expanding neurology division. This role involves a 7 days on/ 7 days off schedule with advanced practice clinicians supporting the busy service. You will be part of our over 1,500 provider multispecialty group, which offers the most comprehensive and quality-focused neurology program in the region. Notably, there is no acute stroke alert responsibility as a centralized acute stroke team covers these cases 24/7/365. Additionally, a 24/7/365 Epilepsy Team covers STAT EEG reads. Sentara is recognized nationally for its quality of care, technology, and innovation, comprising 12 hospitals across Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina, and Sentara Medical Group, a large multispecialty group. Sentara Neurology Specialists is the largest neurology practice in the area, featuring fellowship-trained sub-specialists. The division also serves as the formal Department of Neurology for Eastern Virginia Medical School, encouraging teaching opportunities and academic appointments.

Requirements

  • Neurology Physician
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia

Responsibilities

  • Provide neurology services within an expanding division.
  • Work a 7 days on/ 7 days off schedule.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers.

  • Focus on patient care without direct responsibility for acute stroke alerts or STAT EEG reads, as these are covered by specialized teams.
