About The Position

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and Department of Neurology seek a Neurohospitalist to practice at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania. Academic ranks available are Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

The Neurohospitalist will provide comprehensive inpatient neurological care, including inpatient consultations, acute stroke alerts, and evaluation and management of a broad range of neurological disorders. The physician may interpret routine and continuous EEGs and will collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, emergency medicine physicians, and a multidisciplinary team. The position offers a 7-on/7-off schedule.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree, or foreign equivalent.
• Eligible for state medical licensure.
• Completion of a neurology residency program.
• Board certified or board eligible in neurology.
• All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient neurological care.
• Conduct inpatient neurological consultations and respond to acute stroke alerts.
• Evaluate and manage a broad range of neurological disorders.
• Interpret routine and continuous EEGs.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, emergency medicine physicians, and a multidisciplinary team.
