About The Position

Legacy Medical Group Neurology is seeking a Neurohospitalist to join their team. While a vascular neurologist or experienced Neurohospitalist is preferred, exceptional candidates from other subspecialties will be considered. The Neurology Department provides inpatient coverage across six Legacy Hospitals in the Portland-Vancouver metro area. The department also includes four outpatient clinics with sub-specialty programs. Legacy Health System is a local non-profit with five certified stroke centers, a comprehensive stroke center, four primary stroke centers, an extensive neurosurgery program, a neurocritical care unit, a cardiothoracic surgery program, a Level I trauma center, and an internal medicine residency program.

Requirements

Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical School or the equivalent.
Satisfactory completion of an accredited residency in Neurology.
Board Certified in Neurology.
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state.
BLS certification (ACLS may substitute for BLS).

Nice To Haves

Vascular neurologist or experienced Neurohospitalist.
Experience with or interest in telemedicine.

Responsibilities

Provide consult inpatient Neurology for ED or admitted patients.
Provide night call via telemedicine.
Participate in outpatient follow-up stroke clinic (opportunity).
Teach internal medicine residents (opportunity).
Participate in clinical trials supported by the Legacy Research Institute (opportunity).
Serve as Stroke Center Medical Director (for the right candidate).
