Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular / Cardiopulmonary Technologist program, Radiologic Technology program or Surgical Technology program. (3 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree).
  • Associate’s degree in Radiologic Sciences requires NM Radiography Tech license (ARRT-R)- NM Environment Department within 1 year after graduation.
  • Requires detailed knowledge of neuroendovascular, structural heart, or complex aortic procedures.
  • Proficient with angiography system operations.
  • Strong organizational skills; expert procedural anticipation and instrument/device handling.
  • ACLS - REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE
  • BLS - REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE
  • RCIS, RCES or ARRT Certification Required

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology, or OR hybrid setting supporting image-guided procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead scrub technologist for neuroendovascular and hybrid neuro cases (coiling, thrombectomy, stent/stent-retriever, flow diversion, embolization, AVM/AVF procedures, vessel closure, etc.).
  • Prepare and maintain the hybrid suite and angiographic equipment (biplane C-arm, injectors, hemodynamic monitors, imaging displays) and ensure imaging workflows and DICOM exports are correctly performed.
  • Anticipate operator needs, manage complex device exchanges, and support sterile technique and counts when applicable.
  • Maintain radiation safety (ALARA), use dosimetry, and coach OR staff on fluoroscopy best practices.
  • Coordinate scheduling for neuroendovascular cases with surgeons, anesthesia, and central scheduling; prioritize emergent cases to meet time-sensitive goals.
  • Maintain and manage supplies by tracking consignment and inventory, manage vendor case support assignments and training logistics.
  • Maintain and reconcile procedure cards, specialty kits, and vendor-supplied disposables; partner with supply chain to optimize spend and reduce wasted inventory.
  • Develop and deliver orientation, competency checklists, and ongoing education for new and existing techs and perioperative staff specific to neuroendovascular workflows.
  • Precept and validate competencies for Interventional Techs and cross-training with OR teams.
  • Coordinate vendor-led device training and simulation sessions.
  • Serve as the program liaison between neurointerventionalists, nursing, anesthesia, supply chain, and vendor reps.
  • Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives (room turnover, instrument optimization, code/stroke/emergency response pathways).
  • Provide daily leadership in the hybrid suite during scheduled cases and act as escalation point for operational issues.
  • Performs other functions as required.
