Neurodiagnostic Tech / EEG Technician - Neurodiagnotics Lab
About The Position
The EEG Technician works in Hartford Hospital’s Neurodiagnostics Lab as part of the Ayer Neuroscience Institute’s multidisciplinary team. The institute is expanding inpatient and outpatient EEG services as it develops into a Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, including services for seizure care and surgical treatment of epilepsy. The team focuses on sophisticated, patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement. Technicians receive on-the-job training, online coursework, and person-to-person review sessions, including support for those without prior experience. The organization’s goal is for technologists to become registered through ABRET and develop their work into a career.
Requirements
- Post-high-school degree preferred.
- EEG experience preferred but not required.
Nice To Haves
- Registration as an EEG technologist; registered EEG technologists are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine EEGs.
- Perform continuous inpatient EEGs.
- Perform ambulatory outpatient EEGs.
- Monitor patients in real time for seizures.
- Perform Wada tests.
- Perform SPECT seizure imaging.
