About The Position

Performs routine and complex neurodiagnostic procedures for patients as directed, providing physicians with diagnostic tools to treat patients. The role performs routine procedures independently and may perform complex procedures as skills advance. It maintains electrodes, reviews and edits patient data to provide interpretable results, completes paperwork, and helps keep test areas and equipment ready for effective operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a neurodiagnostic setting, including clinical rotations or internships.
• Current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification before date of hire and/or placement in the job, from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• Able to perform routine EEG procedures independently.
• Able to distinguish EEG abnormalities and respond appropriately.
• Able to learn advanced EEG procedures.
• Able to work with personal computers, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Good communication skills for handling difficult and severely ill patients.
• Able to effectively handle stressful situations.
• Able to demonstrate patient-centered/patient-valued behaviors.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for both education and experience requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited EEG or other neurodiagnostic technician program.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine neurodiagnostic procedures as a diagnostic tool for physicians; perform complex procedures as skills advance.
