About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Network Systems Engineer for a 12+ month contract position with a Global Financial Institution in Pennington, NJ. This role is part of a global team responsible for monitoring and supporting a core risk management platform's environment. The candidate will focus on automation, tool development, and resolving infrastructure issues to ensure the application infrastructure remains healthy and scalable. This position requires working a 2nd shift and occasional weekends on a rotational basis.

Requirements

Excellent knowledge of Linux OS internals and operational OS skills
Expertise in handling overall IT infrastructure scheduled maintenance
Strong programming skills in at least one language such as Java or Python
Strong analytical skills with in-depth, hands-on experience in Global Markets Post Trade services
Good understanding of ITIL methodologies
Understanding of SRE concepts and hands-on knowledge of DevOps tools and technologies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Exposure to Azure and AWS cloud platforms
Experience with Dynatrace and Splunk

Responsibilities

Monitor and support core environment components, working on automation, tool development, and fixing infrastructure problems
Provide innovative solutions to ensure application infrastructure is healthy and scalable
Collaborate with multiple global teams and deliver with minimal mentoring
Provide L3 support during US business hours and participate in a 24x7 support rotation
Manage and implement end-to-end Linux-based infrastructure hosting critical components such as databases, GRID computing, and enterprise job schedulers
Support and monitor application infrastructure and various internal core components and dependent technologies
Address and proactively fix application infrastructure issues
Work on release management, troubleshooting, and capacity/disaster recovery planning
