About The Position

SSR Total IT is seeking an experienced Systems & Network Engineer to serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and a key contributor to their Infrastructure & Security Engineering team. This role involves owning the stability, security, and long-term health of client environments, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, and security systems. The engineer will work directly with clients to align technology decisions with business outcomes. The position is part of a collaborative team of over 10 engineers focused on knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Requirements

8+ years supporting IT infrastructure environments
Strong Windows Server / Active Directory experience
Networking fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switching)
Microsoft 365 / Azure experience
VMware or Hyper-V experience
Strong troubleshooting and client communication skills
Hardware platforms including HP, Dell, Meraki, and Cisco

Nice To Haves

MSP or consulting experience
Veeam / Datto / backup platforms
Security tools (Sentinel One, KnowBe4, Duo, Qualys, Greenbone, etc.)
Certifications (Microsoft, Azure, VMware, Cisco, Security+, etc.)

Responsibilities

Act as the technical leader for assigned client environments
Design, implement, and maintain servers, security, networking, firewalls, backups, and cloud platforms
Support and architect Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
Lead migrations, upgrades, virtualization, and infrastructure projects
Assist Help Desk and NOC teams with escalations
Perform proactive system reviews and recommend improvements
