About The Position
Genesis10 is seeking a Wired Network Engineer - Hybrid for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution. This role focuses on developing and implementing automation strategies for network configuration, monitoring, and management. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth network security expertise and a strong background in designing and implementing enterprise-level network solutions. This position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 7+ years of proven experience as a network architect or in a similar senior-level network engineering role
- Extensive experience with network automation tools and practices
- Strong background in designing and implementing enterprise-level network solutions
- Proficiency in network protocols, services, and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, VRFs)
- Very strong proficiency in Python programming and Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.)
- Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) (Arista CVP, Cisco ACI)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Leadership capabilities and a proactive attitude
Nice To Haves
- Advanced certifications in Networking (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE)
- Knowledge of database systems (SQL, Nautobot)
- Arista ACE Level 5+ or Cisco DevNet S/P/E
Responsibilities
- Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using Python and shell scripts within a virtual environment
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation
- Deploy code to development, QA, Staging, and Production servers
- Test that new services are functioning as expected using testing frameworks
- Design and maintain scripts and tools to automate network tasks and workflows
- Implement and manage network orchestration tools to streamline operations
- Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand network requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Lead architectural discussions and decision-making processes related to network and automation
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers
- Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes
