About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking a Unix OS System Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite per week) with a Global Financial Institution. This role is responsible for designing, building, and testing an automated RHEL OS provisioning solution for internal cloud compute environments. The engineer will work hands-on with cloud computing platforms, MS Windows Server, and Linux systems to deliver automated workflows, validate platform integrations, and ensure system reliability using modern automation and testing practices.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in platform, systems, or infrastructure engineering, with a strong emphasis on automation and integration
• Strong Linux (RHEL) administration expertise, including OS installation, configuration, patching, services, networking, storage, security, and troubleshooting
• Proficiency in shell scripting and Python
• Experience with automation and configuration management platforms (e.g., Ansible or equivalent)
• Working knowledge of Windows Server to support cross-platform workflows and integrations
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Linux OS provisioning and internals

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver automated RHEL OS provisioning for on-prem or internal cloud compute environments
• Build maintainable automation tools and workflows using shell scripting and Python
• Integrate OS provisioning with internal cloud services such as virtualization platforms, networking, identity, monitoring, and configuration systems
• Support automated provisioning, validation, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and CI/CD pipelines
• Focus on continuous testing and reliability, including automated validation, integration testing, and failure troubleshooting
• Collaborate effectively with platform, operations, SRE, and security teams to deliver reliable and scalable automation solutions
