About The Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a NonStop Technical Support Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Richmond, VA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This is an operational and engineering support role working on messaging middleware, playing a key role between Production and Development teams. The ideal candidate will define, automate, and maintain support processes while contributing to the design of resilient messaging architectures for low latency and high throughput use cases.

Requirements

  • Computer Science degree or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience working in a UNIX/Linux production environment
  • Minimum 4 years of experience programming in Perl, Python, Bash or any C derivative (C++, Java)
  • 2-4 years of experience in data structures databases (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Strong knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, SSH, SFTP, etc.
  • Experience with and participation in on-call support for the production environment
  • Experience with troubleshooting production applications
  • Experience using Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Wiki
  • HSM support experience (Utimaco and Futurex)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)

Nice To Haves

  • NonStop Technical Support experience (OS, Coldloads, Safeguard, TAL, FUP, PUP, SCF, Backups, Expand)
  • Experience with Xypro: XAM, XAC, Compliance Pro
  • Automation with Ansible
  • Basic knowledge of Middleware (AMPS, MQ, Kafka)
  • Experience supporting multiple authentication methods (i.e. Kerberos, SiteMinder)
  • Excellent documentation skills in MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project

Responsibilities

  • Define, automate, and maintain support processes for data validation, entitlements integration, and upgrades
  • Optimize existing solutions and architectures
  • Contribute to the design of resilient messaging architectures
  • Diagnose issues and problems that arise in large multi-datacenter, multi-tiered application environments
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consulting services on a range of technologies
  • Develop software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes
  • Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during releases and implement tasks
  • Assist with tracking and managing vendor support tickets, and work with a team to triage and resolve urgent production issues
