About The Position

Assists the Technology Director in maintaining and ensuring the security and operation of district servers and networks. This is a 12-month hourly employee position with a pay rate based upon experience and education.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology-related field or equivalent experience in server and network administration.
  • Experience with using and maintaining electronic equipment.
  • Experience with installing and testing standard network wiring and components.
  • Experience with setting up, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and cleaning all types of mobile, desktop, server and networking hardware.
  • Familiar with Macintosh, Windows, and Linux server environments.
  • Experience with preserving the data integrity of hosted systems, data migration, and backups.
  • Experience in WLAN, LAN, WAN, Internet, and Intranet network design.
  • Experience with the use and maintenance of major desktop and mobile operating systems.
  • Experience with the use, installation, and maintenance of both real and virtual client and server operating systems, with an overall understanding of their appropriate uses.
  • Experience with managing standard e-mail and directory service systems.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, and students.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision.
  • Ability to meet attendance standards to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to maintain a generally positive attitude.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with installation, configuration, and maintenance of network and server hardware and software.
  • Monitors network resources to detect abuse or suspicious usage of network resources or servers.
  • Installs, updates, and supports the use of desktop application suites and other software.
  • Assists in providing training for individuals on computer operations and use of network services.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory of all district networking equipment.
  • Assists in the diagnosing and resolving network problems.
  • Responds to district technology requests.
  • Performs other delegated responsibilities as assigned.

  • Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
