Network Support Analyst

Sunshine MetalsWichita, KS
Onsite

About The Position

We are seeking a Network Support Analyst to join our Enterprise IT Team on-site in Wichita, KS. This is a hands-on, front-line role — you are the eyes, hands, and first response for network, hardware, and end-user issues at the facility, working day to day alongside our Network Analyst and reporting to the IT Manager. Administration and architecture of core infrastructure, cloud platforms, and databases is handled by IT management; this role executes, troubleshoots, and escalates. A successful candidate is comfortable working with both technical and non-technical staff, and around an active production floor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 0-5 years of experience in network, hardware, or IT support
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to work well with non-technical staff
  • Working knowledge of core networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, LDAP, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting PCs, network hardware, and peripherals
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and M365 at a user-administration level
  • Familiarity with Meraki firewalls, VPNs, and IPS, or comparable network hardware
  • Comfortable working in and around an active production/manufacturing floor (PPE required)
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other AMA/SMI/PASU locations
  • Ability to manage multiple support requests and projects simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field a plus but not required
  • Basic familiarity with AWS (Cloud Practitioner level) — administration not required
  • Basic exposure to relational databases (MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server) — enough to support and escalate; day-to-day administration is handled by IT management or a third-party vendor
  • Linux fundamentals (Debian/Ubuntu and/or RedHat/CentOS)
  • Scripting exposure (Bash and/or Python)
  • CompTIA Network+/A+, Cisco CCNA, or AWS Cloud Practitioner — nice to have, not required; hands-on troubleshooting ability matters more to us than certifications
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Responsibilities

  • On-site troubleshooting of PCs, network hardware, printing, and general IT equipment across the facility
  • Front-line end-user support for technical and non-technical staff — tickets, walk-ups, and day-to-day requests
  • Day-to-day network monitoring, backups, and alert triage; escalate complex issues to IT management
  • Active Directory and M365 user administration — account provisioning, permissions, and password resets (not architecture or policy)
  • Support and troubleshoot network connectivity for production floor equipment and PLC-connected systems
  • Telecommunication support: phone, mobile devices, and VOIP
  • Assist with software updates and patch deployment under the direction of IT management
  • Basic familiarity with AWS-hosted infrastructure and database platforms (MySQL, Microsoft SQL, AWS Aurora & RDS) sufficient to support and escalate issues — administration is handled by IT management or a third-party vendor
  • Assist with IT projects at other AMA/SMI/PASU locations as needed (occasional travel)
  • Uphold company security standards in daily work and report anomalies to IT management
