About The Position

The Network Infrastructure System Administrator serves as the primary administrator for assigned infrastructure systems, applications, hardware, and software used throughout the Rochester Campus. The role provides administrator-level support for vendor-provided and custom applications, including licensing, access privileges, passwords, upgrades, vendor support agreements, and system configurations. It is responsible for provisioning, configuring, installing, operating, and maintaining infrastructure systems and related equipment, as well as overseeing electronic and automated systems, networks, and controls in day-to-day operations. The administrator ensures proper system use, identifies and resolves programming and communication issues, and maintains system security and user availability in accordance with organizational standards. Responsibilities include user support and training; reviewing alarm reports and troubleshooting, programming, repairing, or replacing equipment; coordinating construction work with contractors and vendor representatives; and working with Systems Engineers and Facilities Operations staff. The position also supports projects, commissioning, and retro-commissioning. Assigned systems vary according to experience and expertise and may include heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; fire alarms; security access and surveillance; patient-monitoring cameras; paging; nurse call; infant-abduction systems; alarm remote regulatory monitoring; lighting control; and energy monitoring and control. These systems are centrally regulated and may involve highly integrated circuitry and interactive processes. On-the-job and manufacturer training is required for maintaining many assigned systems, and the position requires the ability to program a vendor’s system. This is a hybrid role. Candidates must live within 100 miles of the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester, Minnesota. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or transfer, and Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
