The Network Infrastructure Engineer provides network engineering support for capital projects, facility renovations, campus development initiatives, and other infrastructure-related projects across the university. Under moderate supervision, the engineer independently completes well-defined infrastructure work, applies established practices to routine and moderately complex assignments, and resolves common technical issues using proven methods and standards. The role supports reliable, maintainable, and operationally effective network services through planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement, while coordinating with project stakeholders and technical teams. The position works within Vanderbilt University Information Technology (VUIT), a human-centric organization focused on advancing the university through innovative solutions and collaborative, frictionless experiences. This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with at least one on-campus day per week and additional on-site presence for activities requiring it. The position includes rotating on-call duties for after-hours incidents and requests. It has no direct supervisory responsibility, though it may provide informal guidance or mentorship. The role reports administratively and functionally to the Manager of Network Infrastructure.
