About The Position

The Network Infrastructure Engineer provides network engineering support for capital projects, facility renovations, campus development initiatives, and other infrastructure-related projects across Vanderbilt University. Under moderate supervision, the engineer independently executes well-defined network infrastructure work, applies established engineering practices to routine and moderately complex assignments, and resolves common technical issues using proven methods and standards. The role supports planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of network infrastructure deployments to help deliver reliable, maintainable, and operationally effective network services. The position coordinates with project stakeholders and technical teams, conducts validation and quality reviews, troubleshoots issues, and maintains documentation that supports ongoing operations and future infrastructure work. It is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with on-campus attendance at least one day per week and as needed for in-person activities. The role also participates in rotating on-call duties for after-hours incident response and requests.
