About The Position

In the assigned role of Infrastructure Consultant 2, the Network Engineer supports client infrastructure projects, with a focus on F5 load balancing, Cisco routing and switching, and Palo Alto firewalls. The role collaborates with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, investigate root causes, assess IT infrastructure, and recommend improvements. It contributes to scalable and cost-effective infrastructure designs, deployment and release management, system performance and capacity planning, security and continuity activities, and infrastructure process automation. The position also coordinates with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams and helps maintain a centralized repository of technical and procedural knowledge. The role is part of Infosys Financial Services, which supports digital transformation for financial institutions across banking, wealth management, and insurance. The position is based in Reston, Virginia; relocation and/or travel to the work or project location may be required. The estimated annual compensation is $81,447 to $125,000.

Requirements

Deep understanding of F5 load balancers and hands-on configuration skills.
Strong experience with Cisco routing and switching, including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
Expert knowledge configuring and working with Palo Alto firewalls.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of each year of education.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

Experience with automation using Python or Shell scripting.
Cloud experience, including AWS CloudFront, Azure networking/firewalls/load balancers, or GCP networking/firewalls/load balancers.
Experience with ServiceNow or a similar ticket management system.
Experience with JIRA or a similar tool.
Collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, ability to handle complex incidents, infrastructure assessment and optimization aptitude, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and document findings with preventive recommendations.
Evaluate client IT infrastructure, prepare assessment reports, and support due diligence to document infrastructure maturity and improvement opportunities.
Contribute to the design of scalable, cost-effective IT infrastructure solutions, review reusable components, and develop technical documentation for deployed systems.
Align release schedules and environment readiness; execute deployments according to protocols; perform post-deployment testing; and manage version control.
Coordinate maintenance schedules, emergency fixes, and technology upgrades while maintaining integration with existing systems and processes.
Analyze performance data across systems, coordinate insights on system behavior, and support capacity planning.
Conduct security checks, recovery drills, and compliance audits; implement security measures; and coordinate continuity plans.
Gather feedback, identify automation opportunities, analyze infrastructure processes, and propose efficiency improvements.
Liaise with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams and document project requirements.
Develop a centralized repository of technical and procedural knowledge, using insights from other projects to improve efficiency and retain organizational expertise.
Configure and work hands-on with F5 load balancers; work with Cisco routing and switching and Palo Alto firewalls.
