About The Position

Command Post Technologies (CPT) has an immediate opening for a Network Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO. The selected candidate will establish network information requirements in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale networking infrastructure (CAN, WAN). Designs architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. They will analytically and systematically evaluate problems of workflows and network usage and develop appropriate corrective action.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a broad range of technical task assignments directly related to the primary responsibilities, including:
  • Establishing Layer 1 connectivity between networking devices (Cat 5 and fiber)
  • Troubleshooting Layer 1 connections with Fluke or optical testers
  • Working with media converters
  • Configuring TACLANEs, especially the KG-175 series
  • IAT Level II Security Certification (Security + CE or GSEC or SSCP or CCNA-Security)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Cisco router and switch experience
  • Microsoft Visio experience
  • Ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Help Desk ticketing experience
  • Juniper experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the integration of a proprietary cyber training network environment
  • Configure and support internal or external networks
  • Document network events, to include network diagrams, and proactively seek solutions to outages, etc.
  • Support the design, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of a wide variety of network routers, switches, firewalls, and IDS/IPS devices
  • Maintain all systems, applications, security, and network configurations, troubleshoot network performance, and coordinate repairs covered by third–party vendor maintenance agreements
  • Travel as needed to support FSE responsibilities outside the local area
