About The Position

This position is contingent upon the successful award of a contract currently under bid. Nisga'a Tek provides intelligence, IT, cyber security, training, logistics, administrative, acquisition, and background investigation services. The Network Engineer II assists in the development & maintenance of .edu & .mil networks with the ability to support lower-tiered engineers.

Requirements

  • Experience or knowledge with wireless network deployment, implementation, configuration & management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • AA/AS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 3+ Yrs of EXP with certifications OR Substitute with 8+ Yrs of relevant EXP working with network infrastructure products & solutions
  • IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification & applicable CE/OS Certification.
  • CCNA or CCNP or equivalent computing environment Cert. required.
  • 3 Yrs of progressive EXP in computer system/network engineering, including 2 Yrs of specialized EXP related to the tasks.

  • Experience & skills with the following manufacturers & applications: Extreme Networks Layer 2/3, MLXE Switches /Extreme IQ / OSPF, BGP, & MPLS, VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage (V6.2), Ruckus Layer 2 Switches/Wireless Controller/Wireless Access Points, Palo Alto Firewall knowledge of PA-7050 / PA-3060 / PA-3260 / PA-5450 / Wildfire/URL Filtering, Brocade MPLS Implementation Layer 2 & Layer 3 switches, Cisco switches & routers, Aruba Networks Excellent knowledge of Wireless Controllers/Access Points/Airwave/ClearPass, Ciena 100G OME 6500 DWDM System, SolarWinds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends
  • Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Uses WAN/LAN/ WLAN systems expertise to design, install, operate, & maintain internal/external networks.
  • Tests & evaluates networks to eliminate problems & make improvements.
  • Responsible for network performance monitoring, testing, optimization, implementing projects, network security controls, advanced troubleshooting & analyzing all network infrastructure elements.
  • Support IT Supply Technician as assigned.
