Network Engineer (RCDD) / Communications Network Systems Designer
About The Position
Innovatus Technology Consulting is seeking an experienced Network Engineer / Communications Network Systems professional to support network systems studies, planning, design, development, and modifications of existing and planned voice and data communications network systems and subsystems in Dahlgren, Virginia. The role covers landline, cellular/wireless, voice, video, and data networks and supports contract/task order requirements. The position involves creating and maintaining technical documentation, network diagrams, and design packages; analyzing network capacity and recommending infrastructure improvements; coordinating with project teams, stakeholders, and customers; and supporting implementation, testing, and sustainment activities as needed. The work is performed onsite in a government/DoD support environment. Innovatus Technology Consulting is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that provides technology solutions, engineering support, cybersecurity, and enterprise IT services to government and defense customers.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional work experience in network areas such as landlines, cellphones, voice, video and data networks, and wireless communications.
- Experience in systems studies, including planning, design, development, and modifications of existing and planned voice and data communications network systems and subsystems.
- Proficiency with Visio and AutoCAD, and experience with more complex network engineering tools and tasks.
- BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification, to be obtained no later than 90 days after Task Order award. Candidates who do not currently hold the certification must provide a written plan to attain it within that timeframe.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a government/DoD support environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or other federal government network infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards, telecommunications infrastructure design, and related best practices associated with the RCDD credential.
- Additional relevant certifications or hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies.
Responsibilities
