About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer Associate to support our Navy team in San Diego, CA. This role involves ensuring system hardware/software installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for making the system operational and available at specified times, and ensuring the system is configured according to the Program’s Configuration and Data Management Plans. Responsibilities include preparing analyses of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling. The role may also involve conducting network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies, as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis, and evaluating new technology. Additionally, the position requires providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture, information for hardware and software selection, and tools for efficient solutions to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducting tests of network systems is also a key part of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and zero (0) or more years of college coursework in a technical field; Additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Familiarity with networking architecture.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintenance of network systems.
  • Proficiency in testing networking systems.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.
