Network Engineer Associate
About The Position
SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer Associate to support our Navy team in San Diego, CA. This role involves ensuring system hardware/software installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures. The associate will be responsible for making systems operational and available as specified by the customer, and ensuring systems are configured according to Program Configuration and Data Management Plans. The position may also involve conducting network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies, as well as evaluating new technology and conducting network systems testing.

Responsibilities
- Ensure system hardware/software installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that system is made operational and available, at times specified by the customer.
- Ensuring the system is configured in accordance with the Program’s Configuration and Data Management Plans.
- Prepares the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signaling.
- May conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
- May evaluate new technology.
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Conducts testing of network systems.
