About The Position

CompuOne Corporation is seeking a Network Administrator to join their Illinois technical team. This role involves designing, managing, and securing advanced network environments across multiple client sites. The Network Administrator will lead the backbone of IT infrastructure, taking ownership of enterprise-level systems and leading complex technical initiatives. This is an on-site position with local travel to client locations, and remote work is not an option.

Requirements

  • 2 + years of experience in network administration and IT infrastructure support
  • Proven expertise in switching, routing, and firewall management
  • Advanced knowledge of network security practices and access controls
  • Strong command of Microsoft environments, including Office 365 and Active Directory
  • Experience managing virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, ESXi, Azure)
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified
  • Experience working in a MSP (Managed Services Provider) environment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and support of scalable network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, etc.)
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, availability, and security using industry best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, escalating and coordinating with vendors as needed
  • Configure and maintain VLANs, STP, LACP, QoS, and security protocols
  • Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Office 365
  • Manage virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure
  • Oversee system audits, documentation, and disaster recovery planning
  • Serve as a technical lead on network projects and mentor junior team members
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and recommend improvements
  • Travel to client sites locally as needed (mileage reimbursement provided)
