About The Position

This is a Per Diem opportunity for an Experienced, Board Certified Neonatologist in Athens, GA. The role involves providing coverage at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, which features a Level-III NICU with 20 beds and 6 overflow beds. The daily census averages 16-19 patients with over 300 annual admissions. The NICU is dedicated to high acuity babies and operates with 24-hour rounds plus call, with the possibility of covering 7 consecutive days. The team includes experienced NNPs and on-site sub-specialties such as pediatric ID, neurology, cardiology, pulmonary, and ophthalmology. Access to adult urology, ENT, and dermatology is also available on-site, with other consultants located at CHOA in Atlanta. The hospital has received the 2015 Women’s Choice award for patient safety, obstetrics, orthopedics, heart care, and overall patient experience. Athens, GA, is described as a southern city with a college culture, known for the University of Georgia, a thriving music scene, and award-winning restaurants.

Requirements

• Board Certification in Neonatology with recent experience required.
• Active GA license or IMLC required.

Responsibilities

• Provide per diem coverage at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
• Care for high acuity babies in a Level-III NICU.
• Conduct 24-hour rounds plus call.
• Potentially cover 7 days in a row (schedule permitting).
