About The Position

Northwest Children's Hospital in Amarillo is hiring a Neonatologist for their Level III NICU. The team is composed of a close-knit group of NNPs and Neonatologists, supported by a dedicated staff of RNs, RTs, occupational and physical therapists, social workers, and breastfeeding specialists, all specifically trained to work with infants in the NICU. The hospital offers 29 private, spacious inpatient rooms and a 12-bed PICU. Northwest Children's has been a pioneer in Neonatal intensive care since 1974 and operates the largest NICU in the region, a 35-bed Level III NICU. The hospital provides over 10 Pediatric subspecialties, including a Children's Oncology Group Treatment Center, and a Ronald McDonald Family Room for families of children who are patients, along with other support programs and services. Northwest Children's is part of the Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a tertiary care academic institution serving over 500,000 residents across the Texas Panhandle and surrounding areas in New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Kansas. The institution is recognized for its cardiac, stroke, emergency, trauma, and children's services.

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
DEA license.
NPI number.

Responsibilities

Provide care to infants in a Level III NICU.
Work with a team of NNPs, RNs, RTs, occupational and physical therapists, social workers, and breastfeeding specialists.
See newborns.
Collaborate with in-house Peds subspecialties including Cardiology, Nephrology, Peds Surgery, and Endocrinology.
