About The Position

Nicklaus Children’s Health System and Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists (NCPS) are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible (BC/BE) fellowship-trained neonatologist with a minimum of three years of experience (preferred) for a Staff Relief/POOL opportunity. This role involves working in a 19-bed Level II NICU located in Naples, Florida, which is currently transitioning to a Level III NICU. The position offers a unique opportunity to build and expand the NICU, requiring a passion for advocacy and improving care for children. Responsibilities include attending deliveries, providing prenatal consultations, resuscitating and stabilizing newborns, and providing leadership and supervision in the nursery. Candidates must be proficient in newborn resuscitation, including neonatal intubation, umbilical line placement, peripheral cannulation, and lumbar punctures. The unit is staffed by advanced practice providers, and neonatologists provide daytime rounding and on-call coverage from home.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible (BC/BE)
  • Fellowship-trained neonatologist
  • Minimum of three years of experience (preferred)
  • Proficient in newborn resuscitation, including neonatal intubation, umbilical line placement and peripheral cannulation, lumbar punctures, etc.
