About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Neonatologist to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Harlem Hospital is a large hospital in Central Harlem and the only Safety Net Hospital in Northern Manhattan, recognized for its centers of excellence. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. The mission of NYC Health + Hospitals is to provide comprehensive health services of the highest quality to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity, and respect, regardless of their ability to pay or immigration status. This role involves attending high-risk deliveries, managing newborns, and precepting/supervising interns and residents. Faculty also participate in hospital and department subcommittees focused on clinical and quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to resident education through supervision and lectures. The position requires diagnosis and management of patients in the Level III Neonatal ICU.

Requirements

  • Board Certification in Pediatrics Required.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Required.
  • Active New York State Medical License.
  • Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Attending to high-risk deliveries and manage pre-term and full-term newborns.
  • Precepting and supervising interns and residents.
  • Participating in hospital and department subcommittees (clinical and quality improvement).
  • Participating in the resident education subcommittee.
  • Supervising residents’ clinical performance.
  • Leading bedside discussions and providing formal lectures.
  • Diagnosis and management of patients in the Level III Neonatal ICU.

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $250,000 (board eligible); $260,000 (board certified) based on 40-hour work week.
  • Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
