About The Position

Geisinger Health System (GHS) is seeking a BC/BE Neonatologist to join their current neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and neonatal physician assistants based at the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville, PA. The NICU at GMC is a 40-bed, Level IV Regional NICU serving Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania, with approximately 600 admissions and 250 neonatal transports annually via helicopter and ground with a unit-based transport team. It is associated with a high-risk delivery service and serves as a training site for various resident and student programs. Neonatologists are supported by maternal fetal medicine specialists and a full range of pediatric medical and surgical specialists. The department provides continuous in-house NICU coverage and conducts frequent outreach education and simulation programs. Neonatology co-directs the Center for Prenatal Pediatrics, a fetal diagnosis and treatment center, and is a member of the Vermont-Oxford Network VLBW database, expecting participation in performance improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Recent experience with high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide administration, therapeutic hypothermia therapy, congenital heart disease and peri-operative management is required.
