About The Position

The Division of Neonatology at Connecticut Children’s has an opening for a full-time, Board Certified/Board Eligible neonatologist to serve as Medical Director in our NICU at Waterbury Hospital in Waterbury, CT. Clinical duties include caring for infants in a 10-bed Level II NICU and newborns in the well-baby nursery. The unit supports a delivery service of approximately 1100 births per year. Coverage is provided by 24/7 advanced practitioners with at-home neonatology call. As part of the Connecticut Children’s, the unit is part of a state-wide transport service for infants requiring more advanced care. The Medical Director will be responsible for clinical pathway and guideline development, advanced nursing and practitioner education, quality improvement, outcomes tracking, and budgetary planning. The Director will maintain close contact with obstetric providers and nursing as well as leadership at Waterbury Hospital and Connecticut Children’s.
