About The Position

Neonatal Excellence + Collegial Team – Discover Your Next Career Move. This role is within a 34-bed, Level III NICU offering diverse acuity and case variety. You will be part of a collaborative model with 2 Neonatologists and 4 NNPs, with NNPs in-house 24 hours a day. The position includes newborn nursery rounds and an NNP-led transport team. You’ll join a collegial, evidence-based team focused on quality-driven protocols and continuous improvement in neonatal care. The facility is Central Louisiana’s largest and most advanced NICU, located within Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital (RWCH), which also houses the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a 19-bed pediatric unit, a 29-bed well-baby nursery, and a 26-bed OB/post-partum unit. RWCH is a cornerstone of pediatric and neonatal care in the region, offering cutting-edge facilities and a supportive environment for clinicians.

Requirements

• Current APRN national specialty certification
• Minimum of a master’s degree

Responsibilities

• 34-bed, Level III NICU – diverse acuity and case variety
• Collaborative 2 Neonatologist / 4 NNP model
• NNPs in-house 24 hours a day
• Home call for Neonatologists after rounds
• 1,500–2,000 deliveries annually
• Newborn nursery rounds
• NNP-led transport team (physician covers in-house during transports)
